Sarah Lewis

Sarah is a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist who has gained a wide range of experience in the neurological field both within the private sector and within the National Health Service.

Sarah initially graduated with a degree in Sport & Exercise Science in 2012 prior to completing her Physiotherapy degree, giving her a sound knowledge of Exercise & Health. Sarah then went on to work within a range of specialties within the NHS before specialising in Neurology.

Prior to working full time at Neuro Physio Wales, Sarah led the in-patient Stroke Rehabilitation ward in Neath Port Talbot hospital, as well as working within the Neuro-Rehabilitation unit and Neuro Outpatients.  Sarah led the spasticity management pathway within stroke services and became the first clinician to be able to offer patients on the rehabilitation ward Botulinum Toxin injections as an inpatient immediately post stroke.

Sarah has completed postgraduate training in Injection Therapy for Neurological conditions, specifically the administration of Botulinum Toxin and currently jointly leads the Spasticity Clinic at Neuro Physio Wales. We pride ourselves in using gold standard ultrasound guided techniques to ensure maximum accuracy.

Sarah has completed Bobath training courses and is able to offer treatment for complex neurological conditions, multi traumas, Stroke, Traumatic Brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Spinal Myoclonus, Amputee Rehabilitation, Paediatrics, GBS, Spinal Cord injuries, Post Operative Rehabilitation, post COVID neurological complications as well as other rare neurological conditions.

Sarah is experienced in working within an MDT with case managers, OT’s, SALT’s, Schools, Educational Psychologists, assistive technology specialists, Consultants and has experience of working with litigation cases.

Sarah also has an interest in hydrotherapy and has experience in leading hydrotherapy services for Neurological rehabilitation.

Sarah is a member of the HCPC, CSP and attends regular conferences to keep her knowledge up to date.

Sarah understands the limitations of hospital-rehab and left her role within the NHS as she is passionate about giving individuals the ongoing support they need to thrive.  Sarah loves being able to go above and beyond for clients to reach their goals and receives great client feedback:
